Story County Empowerment has a 16-member board .   The local board includes citizens, elected officials, parents, and representatives of education, health, human services, faith, and business. 

The Empowerment Board typcially meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.  Subcommittees are occasionally used to perform activities on behalf of the Board.
